Internships
SEED TO TABLE- EDUCATOR
Seed-to-Table seeks to bridge the gap in understanding where our food comes from before it reaches the grocery store shelves. Through experiential and problem-based learning, students are introduced to gardening, healthy eating, local foods, nutrition, and other STEM concepts right in their classrooms and their school gardens. The curriculum is designed with Farm to School, MyPlate, and the State Plan guidelines in mind and aims to not only challenge students but enlighten them to make healthy choices. Hub City Roots is currently working with the Cleveland Academy of Leadership, The Franklin School, and Mary H. Wright Elementary School each week facilitating nutrition-based workshops.
Intern Duties: Work alongside our Education Specialist and Urban Farm Manager facilitating nutrition-based workshops at our partner schools. This internship will run from August 2024-May 2025.
Requirements: Must be currently studying to become a teacher or have previous teaching experience. A strong interest in agriculture and/or nutrition preferred. Must be able to pass a background check.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
Hub City Farmers’ Market has a Facebook page with 10,000 followers and Instagram account with over 3,000 followers. We post material that advertises our market services, connects customers and vendors, and gives insight into HCFM programs like the Urban Farm and Farmers Markets. Also using e-blasts, we inform our patrons of special events and fundraisers that take place throughout the year.
Intern Duties: In order to engage a large online audience, interns will act as content creators operating multiple social media platforms. Posts should be well-planned, timely, and appropriate for all audiences. Interns have the opportunity to work remotely on social media projects, but will report all content to Heather Raines prior to posting.
